IOActive’s Robert Zigweid to Present at SOURCE Seattle
IOActive’s Principal Security Consultant to discuss best practices for threat modeling
Seattle, Wash—May 12, 2011. IOActive, a leading provider of application security, compliance, and smart grid security services, today announced that Robert Zigweid, a Principal Compliance Consultant, will present Threat Modeling Best Practices at the SOURCE Seattle conference. The purpose of the SOURCE Seattle Conference is to bridge the gap between technical excellence and business acumen within the security industry. SOURCE fosters a community of learning where business and security professionals come together to gain knowledge and skills, network with peers, and advance their careers and professional development.
Zigweid will discuss best practices for implementing threat modeling that include when to begin threat modeling, how much threat modeling to perform, and who should be involved. It's important to remember that threat modeling is an ongoing process that doesn't stop when a product is on the market. Attackers will not stop developing threats because a product has gone to market, so it's critical that companies continue to counter these threats and prevent attacks throughout a product's lifecycle.
