IOActive’s Scott Dunlop to Present at ToorCon Seattle 2011

IOActive’s Senior Security Consultant to present Reverse Engineering Using the Android Emulator

Seattle, Wash—May 31, 2011. IOActive, a leading provider of application security, compliance, and smart grid security services, today announced that Scott Dunlop, one of their Senior Security Consultants, will present Reverse Engineering Using the Android Emulator at ToorCon Seattle—a small get-together for ToorCon staff, supporters, and past speakers who will meet and have fun in Seattle. It's a low-key event that kicks off with a block party on Friday night and finishes the weekend with hands-on workshops at various locations around the city on Sunday, in addition to other social activities planned in the downtown area.

Scott will present his research—conducted from the evil eye view perspective of a hacker—that demonstrates how to combine the Android Emulator and associated SDK, JDWP, and Baksmali to dissect, instrument, and tamper with Android applications. The presentation also will include a live demonstration where Scott will dissect an antivirus application from the Android Marketplace.
