IOActive's David Baker to Present at the EnergySec 2009 Annual Summit

Director of Services, David Baker, will discuss how the industry can work together to ensure a secure Smart Grid

Seattle, Wash—September 22, 2009. IOActive, a leading provider of software assurance, compliance and smart grid security services, today announced that David Baker, Director of Services, will present Smart Grid Security: The Road Ahead at the EnergySec 2009 Annual Summit on Sept. 23, 2009.

While the security of the Smart Grid has been a hot topic recently, it is important that discussions do not end with the threats. In his talk, Baker will discuss IOActive's recommendations for how asset owners can work towards ensuring a more secure Smart Grid. Leveraging extensive research performed by IOActive's team as well as third parties, Baker will offer suggestions and best practices that vendors could adopt to mitigate vulnerabilities, as well as develop more secure products in the future.

About David Baker
David Baker is IOActive's Director of Services and a subject matter expert on information security, CIPS compliance work, and Smart Grid architectures. Baker specializes in developing security requirements and identifying best practices for critical infrastructure and utility system management, having debriefed the Department of Homeland Security on AMI research. Baker has orchestrated large-scale network and application penetration tests, provided a long-term security roadmap and budgetary plans for enterprise customers, and written critical assessments of enterprise cyber security programs.
