IOACTIVE ADVISORY BOARD STEVE WOZNIAK A Silicon Valley icon and philanthropist for the past three decades, Steve Wozniak, helped shape the computing industry with his design of Apple's first line of products the Apple I and II, and influenced the popular Macintosh. For his achievements at Apple Computer, Steve was awarded the National Medal of Technology by the President of the United States in 1985, the highest honor bestowed upon America's leading innovators. In 2000, Steve was inducted into the Inventors Hall of Fame and was awarded the prestigious Heinz Award for Technology, The Economy and Employment for single-handedly designing the first personal computer and for then redirecting his lifelong passion for mathematics and electronics toward lighting the fires of excitement for education in grade school students and their teachers. Steve holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. Mr. Weld has more than 20 years of experience in business leadership and strategy, technology innovation, and finance. Prior to joining IOActive's Advisory Board Mr. Weld was Founder, CEO and Chairman of MessageGate, Inc.; President and COO of Loudeye Corporation; Founder, CEO and Chairman of Alive.com; and Founder, CEO and Chairman of Cognisoft Corporation. Mr. Weld also held several senior management positions at Microsoft including Group Program Manager on Windows NT and Director on The Microsoft Network (MSN) where he named and helped launch Slate magazine. Mr. Weld began his career in the private equity and structured finance groups at Bankers Trust Corporation and worked for several years as a consultant with Accenture. Mr. Weld also served as Special Assistant to Massachusetts Governor William F. Weld during his successful gubernatorial bid in 1990. Mr. Weld received an MBA from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College and an AB in computer science and Russian from Dartmouth College. Mr. Weld is a member of the Board of Advisors of Seattle University.s Entrepreneurship Center and is a member of the advisory boards of Inrix, Inc. and IOActive, Inc.
Mark McVeety has been involved with IOActive since 2000. He has been instrumental in formulating and executing IOActive's initiatives and introducing them into various markets including health care (HIPAA), financial (GLBA), education, corporate, and government. He negotiated and secured our Federal GSA contract successfully and in record time. Mark has traveled throughout the country for IOActive where his energy has been valuable in representing us at trade shows. He has been effective at closing key corporate accounts and managing the contracts to completion. He has also helped us establish key relationships with our vendors and partners. In addition to the work Mark does for IOActive, he has worked on projects both on- and off-site, in Thailand, Burma, Mexico City, Peru, and for Jack Healey, the former Executive Director of Amnesty International USA. He also helped produce the VH1 weeklong concert series Groundwork 2001 with REM, Pearl Jam, Philip Glass, Joe Strummer and dozens others. Mark is also an active musician with projects in Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. He has released one three-CD set and has had performances seen and heard internationally, including a European audience of one and one-half million viewers. Prior to his work with IOActive, Mark co-founded and served as CEO of a software consulting company. He has also been involved in the development of educational software products that are still used by many universities around the country. |
